What We Are All About

Our Playschool operates from Monday to Friday from 9am – 12 noon. Our aim is to provide each child with a high quality, child-centred, inclusive, nurturing and fun emergent play-based learning environment. This approach empowers each child to actively pursue their own learning experience, gaining confidence and competence as they learn and develop.

We are passionate about inclusion, celebrating each child’s uniqueness and taking a strength’s-based approach to learning. We fully embrace the benefits of outdoor play and the use of natural materials to provide a stimulating environment that provokes curiosity and exploration through the medium of play.

 

Curriculum

We implement an emergent play-based curriculum using the Aistear and Siolta guidelines and framework. Our curriculum is child led as we follow the interests of each child as we build on their strengths and interests by supporting them to develop and reach their full potential.


Our Learning environment

Our indoor and outdoor spaces are designed to foster lifelong learning dispositions and provide areas of curiosity interest and exploration. Our environments are constantly changing as we provide areas of interest and discovery in following the interests of the children.

 

ECCE Scheme

We operate the Governments ECCE scheme only.

Children aged 2 years 8 months by 1st Sept are eligible for 2 years free pre-school under the ECCE free preschool programme. Check this link for more information.

 

Staff

Here at the Anchorage, we strive to provide a high-quality service. Our managers are qualified to a degree level and have over 30 years of experience in their field of early childhood education and care.

We have a wealth of knowledge, training, experience and understanding to provide a high-quality early-years education for your child.
